Ko Phi Phi

Ko Phi Phi was devasted in the boxing day tsunami of 2004. It is certainly one of the most beautiful places we have been to, and is still undergoing a process of regeneration and rebuilding. Some of this regeneration is focused around an ecological / sustainable futures scenario. The success of the development, is yet to be seen, but in my opinion it was more negative than positive. There was still a lot of litter and waste materials around Phi Phi and building goes unchecked and unregulated in some cases, with new buildings attempting to get closer and closer to the lapping waves. One of the more interesting initiatives was this water recycling station, which purified and cleaned water through entirely natural means.
